Renewing the Roof Above a Blue Bell Home

The project was not treated as a shingle swap. The old assembly was removed, the deck was exposed and prepared, and the replacement components were installed in the order required to manage water, airflow, and exterior appearance together.
Protecting the Home Before Work Began
The crew set up the site before the first section of roofing was removed. Ground protection, controlled debris handling, and a defined material path helped keep the work contained. The roof may have been the target, but the siding, windows, landscaping, and paved surfaces below still had to make it through the day intact.
Working From the Deck Out
A replacement roof inherits every weakness left in its base. With the old covering removed, the deck was assessed and prepared to receive the new system. Installing the GAF Roofing System
Materials from GAF were installed as coordinated layers rather than isolated products. The underlayment and edge components established the secondary water-control plane. The shingles created the primary weather surface. Ridge materials completed the upper transitions and helped the roof read as a finished architectural element.
Coordinating Flashing and Roof Ventilation
The project gave close attention to the places where the roof changes direction or meets another component. Flashing details were integrated at transitions, and roof ventilation was considered as part of the assembly. A roof has to release heat and moisture from below while rejecting water from above. Ignoring either side is an expensive shortcut.

The final roof delivered renewed weather protection with clean courses, crisp edges, and a more unified profile across the structure.
