This Doylestown-area residence in Bucks County needed more than isolated panel changes. The project called for a whole-home siding replacement that could restore visual consistency across the elevations while renewing the wall’s first line of weather protection.
Lemus removed the existing cladding, prepared the exposed surfaces, and installed Hardie® Siding & Trim products from James Hardie. Treating the exterior as one connected assembly allowed the crew to carry the same layout, clearances, and detailing from one side of the home to the next.
A Full-Exterior Scope Instead of Patchwork
Localized repairs can be useful, but they often leave mismatched materials and unresolved transitions behind. A full replacement created the opportunity to reset the wall system across the home. The crew could remove inconsistent conditions and establish one installation standard for the entire exterior.
Preparing the Wall Before New Cladding
Once the old siding was removed, the work shifted to building envelope preparation. The wall surface, water-resistive layer, and key transitions were made ready before the new siding went up. This stage does not photograph as well as the finished elevation, but it is where much of the project’s long-term value is created.
Establishing Consistent Siding Lines
The Hardie® siding layout was carried across each elevation with attention to level courses, material spacing, and clean terminations. Windows, doors, corners, and roof intersections were treated as part of the overall geometry so the new exterior did not break rhythm every time it encountered an opening.
Integrating Trim and Water-Control Details
Trim created the finished borders around openings and corners while helping resolve the underlying flashing interfaces. The crew coordinated those pieces so the visible design and the drainage strategy worked together. One without the other is just decoration or engineering. The project needed both.
A Unified Doylestown Exterior
The completed siding installation replaced a tired, fragmented exterior with a cleaner and more durable finish. The home now presents one consistent material story from the street, while the concealed wall layers have a clearer route for managing weather behind the scenes.
